here's a tip for all you 27+ year-old single guys out there.. if it's late one saturday night, and you get the idea "hey!
it's saturday night!
i'm going to have me a drink!
LOL! If you stay sober...Cooking bacon naked can keep you light on your feet and your reflexes quick! I think it's the slow reflexes that get ya on this one!
A tater tot scar?!?! That is the most original reason for a scar I have heard of! That's a Homer Simpson thing...I bet if you write the producers you might see it in an episode!
that is one saying that really got on my bloody nerves , and the strange thing was it was usually the biggest gossips i have ever known in real life and j dub land that came out with that line !
they insist they do not gossip but in my workplace where 90 % of workforce were witnesses it was no different to any other place of work i have been in for gossip , i even remember thinking how nasty they were for calling a member of the congregation "shrek" what fine fruit i thought to myself !
did any of you know a "gossip" story ?
LOL! The only good thing about going out in service with pioneers was catching up on the gossip...as guilty as I felt about hearing it, I wanted to be in the know! Shame on me!
i got to thinking about something that happened a year ago.
i was drifting away from the org, when my sister-in-law told me i was being selfish.
she said she was at aloss for words as to what to tell her 11 year old daughter about me.
"You know it's the truth"-my sister
"They may not have everything right, but they're the best out there."-my mother
"You have to take the scripture in context"-my best girlfriend, to which I replied "Exactly." and never had another conversation with her.
i went to my first acoc (adult children of alcoholics) meeting friday.
i think i had one of the most spiritually uplifting experiences of my life.
i've never fet the intensity of love and acceptance at a kh that i felt at this meeting with a group of women that i'd only known an hour.
Good for you!
I just saw your post...6 days and no comments...yeesh! Could use some of that love right here!
I know what you mean about feeling that love and connection with a group unlike any ever at the Kingdom Hall! I had that once after a church service at Christmas time! Everyone gathered, held hands and sang. It was amazing!
I'm glad you found a warm and welcoming harbor!
he was abused by my dad really bad... i'm talking a broken nose, black eyes, black and blues all the time... my dad was a po for years and was one during the whole time he was abusing us.
of course, he was the worst with my brother.
my brother has always denied it and said it wasn't as bad as it was.
I think Oompa is very wise here. My heart goes out to you and your dear brother and his wife.
...get some more dougnuts, just give me 5 minutes!
.
.
The bestest doughnuts in the world are in two little old farming towns I lived in. Yummy! It's almost worth the 14 hour drive back up to Michigan for a maple glazed one!
We can't seem to find a decent doughnut place here in the South...Georgia or Alabama. Dang it. You'd think we would have lost some more weight by now!
i have a problem.
i knew this would come up but what has me questioning myself is where some of my resistance is coming from.. my wife and i have a baby on the way in nov. (a little girl) anyway my mom immediately started applying pressure to me to go back to meeting and of course to attend the convention.
that is not the surprise.
Don't go! Run away!
As well intentioned as your wife and mil may be, they have no idea of the inner workings and how this would only make it worse and prolonged. And a danger to your daughter!
Take your stand against your mother's guilt and cunning. It will be better for your family. If not, she could later say, "You know it's the truth. Why else would you have come to the convention if you knew it to be a lie? Deep down, you doubted your leaving."
Run away! Run away screaming if you have to...but run friend! Run!
do any of you honeys out there want a good kiwi male?.
here is what to expect.. http://tvnz.co.nz/close-up/man-vs-clothes-dryer-result-stuck-2798852/video.
cheers.
Oh my goodness! He sure took it all well!
in recent months, my sister-in-law (sister's sister) got reinstated after about 14+ years out.
i speculated that this may have been because my mother-in-law may want to get baptized.
mil has gone to meetings faithfully for more than 20 years, but never did a lick of field circus and never moved toward baptism because her work related to babylon the great.
Life just keeps getting more interesting...doesn't it? She sure will have a rude awakening on what is expected from her as a baptized member as opposed to side watcher! I bet her head spins a bit from it when they hound her for her time for the month, or she hears the real gossip going on in the car group! Her rose colored glasses have been taken off.
